Why is your service and seafood so bad??
Wonderful staff, great food and the view from he restaurant is amazing.
Fantastic food, exceptional service!
Nice place to stop to eat. Great view of the ocean. Big patio. Friendly service. Good food.
MoreA beautiful place to eat! You may come for the name but donโt let that be only factor, the food can stand on its own in a large city. The Seafood Chowder is utterly delicious. The owner is so friendly and knows what people need. Our second time here and every time we come from Ontario this place is where we need to be.
MoreThere was a different vibe of decorations here
Great photo spot
Excellent food with great service and atmosphere
Good fish and chips. Friendly service.
Got a fish burger. Really disliked the tartar sauce. My wife, on the other hand, really enjoyed her fish and chips. If you eat here, be sure to taste the tartar sauce before putting it on your food (not saying it's bad, just that I personally didn't like it).
MoreNice view/area. Friendly staff. Good food
Great cod tongues and soups. Staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. A must go to restaurant in the area.
MoreI enjoyed my visit here. It was Labour Day Weekend so we expected a bit of a wait anyway. We got a table fairly quickly but there was a bit of a wait on the food. When the food arrived, we were not disappointed. The fish was excellent. I highly recommend it. The fries were cold but still very tasty. They probably should have waited for the fish to be ready before putting on the plate. The tartar sauce was very tasty. The service was very good. I thought our server was excellent and did a great job. This was especially evident when dealing with some very rude customers at the table next to us. They were very whiny and even had the gall to bring a big bag of chips to eat at the table while waiting for their order. Our server should be commended for dealing with such rude people. I will be back again.
MoreThe line up was too much.
Decided to grab a bite spontaneously and I must say I am super pleased. I should highlight that the Fish at DDG is caught locally, which in my mind automatically enhances the flavour and texture of the food. The hospitality of the people working there, along with the ambiance the place gives definitely equals a 5 star rating from me! #SupportLocal
MoreService was good and friendly food was great
Nice but of gallery space in the lower floor.
Awesome food and friendly service
Friendly service and enjoyed good pubfood!
Popular with locals and with great views of the harbor. Many well prepared fried foods, a couple of soup/chowders and a couple of salad options round out the "Monday Tuesday" menu. Now I wonder what the rest of the week looks like!
MoreFriendly servers, delicious food, good atmosphere.Menu items were interesting and I liked they had good quality, housemade items.Dining outside as well as inside.Newfoundland music playing overhead.Dining area was clean and spacious though could use some reinventing as I noticed servers often asking customers to please move out of the way as customers were lining up to pay and servers were trying to go by with dishes.Bathroom could use a touch up also.Family friendly. I wouldn't reccomend to vegans.
MoreGreat food and service. The only thing was they had their menu down sized that day.
MoreGreat view, great food... been here on 3 separate visits over the past 5 years and the food is consistently good. Make sure you try the chowder and fish and chips.
MoreBest fish and chips I have ever eaten
We had an awesome time here, the staff was very friendly and made us feel like we were old schoolmates or family. We met almost everybody and stayed for a few more beers than we had planned. Oh, and the food was excellent, fresh cod and fries and a starter salad that was straight from their garden I'm sure.
MoreGood place to eat and friendly to talk to
Visited Dildo beautiful community went for early dinner cod tongues, fresh cod and fries. Absolutely delicious great staff. Highly recommend to eat here.
MoreGreat food, fantastic service.
If your in St Johns you should visit this little town. The brewery is nice too
I havenโt even been to this town but the food made me want to eat stuff. Also, nice town name๐
MoreBeautiful place. But understaffed today. Waited 45 min and finally left without eating.
MoreA wonderful place to experience a taste of Newfoundland dishes. Began with a vegetarian split pea soup - a taste of home. The fish and chips is a good portion with lightly battered cod - tartar sauce was homemade. Ended with the sticky toffee pudding with Newfoundland rum sauce (ice is an option for this)
MoreCod and chips - dry tough fish , thick batter, 1 1/2 hour wait. This restaurant says under new management. They should plead with the old management to come back.
MoreExcellent food and superior service. Also a nice view. ๐
Great food, good service nice views. Worth a visit.
Great fish and chips and outstanding service.
Awesome diner. You have to try their stuck pudding
We had to go see it more for the name and the food was fabulous. Lightly breaded cod tongues, light crispy battered cod and chips. And tender divine chicken fingers.
MoreReally good food and service
Fantastic food and great service
Pick your time. Can get very busy. Had the fishcakes. They were fine and the fries were very tasty. The fish and chips were also very tasty. Serve basic pub food with an emphasis on seafood. There is a nice deck with a great water view of the harbour. Licensed.
MoreThe view & service is excellent! Will be back.
Very friendly staff and great food
Food is so good
Excellent menu and service
Best fish and chips I've probably ever had

A great spot.
We enjoyed an excellent lunch of fish and chips, accompanied by an iceberg beer. The view was as nice as the food.
